See Your Stats Without Leaving Your Blog

As we’ve talked about before, it’s important to keep track of your website statistics. Google Analytics is a free service and gives you all kinds of traffic statistics. We also discussed using Feedburner.com to burn feeds of your posts and send them out to different directories and places on the web. Well, I came across a plugin called Tan Tan Noodles that captures the statistics from both of these sources and allows you to look at them without ever leaving your blog. How cool is that!!

To get the plugin go here and download it to your computer. Then you’ll want to use whatever FTP program you like and transfer the plugin to your wp-contents, plugins folder. Once transferred, go to your blog and activate the plugin. Once activated you’ll see “Reports” as a part of your main admin selections across the top where you have “Write, Manage, Design” etc. Click Reports and follow the set up instructions for the sub-categories. Now you’re ready to start capturing your traffic statistics!

Here’s what the plugin does for you:

  • Provides you with a birds-eye view of what’s going on with your site
  • Retrieves data from Google Analytics and Feedburner
  • Reports are represented visually with graphs
  • Choose the reports you want to view
  • Ability to automatically install the Google Analytics tracking code for you, along with optional outbound link tracking.
  • Includes a WordPress widget to display your most popular content.
  • Automatically checks for updates to the plugin
  • I hope you’ll find this a useful timesaver for you.

    To your success … Debbie

Hi Debbie, I see you are getting organized to do your competition video. I too am working on mine. I have done a few at this point, so if I can help you in any way, just ask. If I can help I will be only too glad to help a fellow Alex student.

    Debbie,

What a nice find with this plugin.
Sounds like a good one, I’m going to go have a look at it now.

I think getting it on the site will make it so much easier to use. How can you benefit from something you don’t use, this should help.

And wow, you have been busy with your blogroll!

    John,

I’m actually having some problem with Awareness API on this plugin. Maybe once you look at it yourself, you could help me out.

    Thanks,
    Debbie
