7 Ways to Get Traffic

One of the top search engine queries is “Work at Home”.  If you are one of the many people trying to establish an internet business while working at home, there are a few basic things you can do to bring more traffic to your site.  For a successful outcome, there is work involved.  Here are a few things you can do to make your online business work for you.

SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION

 Make sure your site is search engine optimized.  Put the search engine word in your title. Then use that same word or words, called keywords, throughout several pages on your website.  Be sure that the information on your website is relevant to the term used in searching. Update your information frequently so that the web crawlers will locate your site and move it toward the top of the search results. Search engines love fresh content!

SUBMIT ARTICLES

 Write at least ten articles (or pay someone to write them for you) about subjects on your website so you can submit them to article directories.  Once you have your articles, submit them to as many online directories as you can.  Try to start with 100.  Make sure that you include a link to your website using your keyword(s) in the resource box.

ONLINE DIRECTORIES

 These back links are easy to do if you just spend a little time working on them.  When you are working with a small budget, these are an often under utilized technique.  These article directories will give you back links that are invaluable. 

ONLINE COMMUNITIES

 Join online communities where you can find people that have similar interests as you.  To locate these communities, just enter some of your keywords into a search engine. Once you join you can email or instant message other members that are actively interested in your site.

KEEP IT SIMPLE
 
 People are searching for information.  If your blog site is too complex, it may get ranked lower in the search engines.  When people are seeking answers online, often they are searching for clarification and not complex directions.

MAKE YOUR DESIGN APPEALING

 Spending time making your website look professional will give you added credibility when people click on it.  You don’t want people to think you are an amateur when they visit your site; you want them to have respect for your ideas.

REMAIN ACTIVE

 Go to other blogs about similar topics and leave comments.  Leave a short comment that is on topic and then leave a link back to your main site.  People reading the comments may want to respond to your comment on your site. Your link is right there to make it easy for them to do so. This will generate traffic to your site. 

Having a successful blog or website takes time.  Don’t get frustrated, just continue to employ different methods.  It’s a combination of all your efforts that will make your site soar.  Once you’ve gained some success, continue to make improvements.  The internet is ever changing, and you have to stay relevant.
