“Cool Tools” Page
I don’t know about the rest of the students reading this page, but as I tried to make the rounds to all of our sites, I saw lots of great cool tools being discussed. Then I couldn’t remember where they were!
Soooo, since I’m technically challenged, I decided one way I could contribute to the group would be to create a “Cool Tools” page and capture all the great things I’ve come across in my visit to the students of Alex Jeffreys’ sites. That way, everyone would have one place where they could come to find or review a tool. I’m not quite finished going through all the sites, and I’m sure I will have missed some, but that’s the plan.
So here’s how I envision this working. I’ll divide things up into ebooks/reports, software, videos and services. I’ll provide a “contributed by” backlink to the first blog I found the tool on and/or the first blog comment about a tool. Of course, I will include tools I’m already aware of that will have no backlinks. Then, as we progress, any new tools someone finds or creates, just shoot me a comment with the contributing link and I’ll add it to the correct spot. Also, if I’ve missed something of value, please let me know.
So, gang, how does that sound? I’d love to get your feedback. I’m working on this now and plan to get this completed by our next webinar.

Debbie,
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I like your also. Have you made any sales yet? I have not and I hope I will soon. I know it’s not about the sales but the list - but I would still like to get the first one done.
Did you stop by all the student sites on your buddy list or copy and paste the links?
Have a great weekend.

Hi Debbie
Thank you for visiting my blog and adding my link.
I have your link added now.
Today I am happy because, Google started sending me a lot of traffic today.
Cool tools: I added a live traffic box to my site, and I am getting some traffic from it.
It is free, just put a line of code in your sidebar
It can be got at
http://live.feedjit.com
It shows the last 10 visits and where they came from in your page
Hope to hear from you again

Hi Debbie,
I just finished the 1st draft of my first ebook and
I wondered if you could help me?
I get many questions a day on my blog and by email about
blog related topics. So the book I am putting together
answers most of these, but I would like to know if you
can think of anything else that could be included. Even
better would be any questions you want answered.
The ebook covers Wordpress settings, changing the header,
widgets, plugings, adding aweber, adsense, adverts and more.
I have just posted on my blog so if you can think of anything else
I should cover, please leave a comment.
Thanks!
Mark

Hi,
I think a cool tools page would be great, I know exactly what you mean about great things on people sites, but then we do have so many to visit and the list just seems to be growing!
I am just going to visit ten a day until they are all done and although it will take a little longer at least I can do a thorough job.
Well done on the cool tools page idea, excellent!
Best wishes,
Ruth

Hi Debbie, another Alex student here. You visited my http://effectivepersonaldevelopmentblog.com site the other day, not sure how you found it because I was waiting to get my marketing blog up before announcing to the group. We know how things \’leak\’. You are welcome ther of course, but you may want to show my marketing blog here in your blogroll, or both is fine with me! I\’ll keep popping in here to see you and comment.

Hi Debbie
Yes I totally agree about the cool tools needing to all be put together in one place. I have done the same thing and cannot remember where I have seen things.
I’m still struggling with getting my ppp up but at least have now managed to get my website hosted on my own domain. http://www.hilarydickinson.com
Would you please change your link to me in your blogroll? Thanks!
This is all new to me and the learning curve is huge. Christmas preparations are going on the backburner a bit at the moment, but this is the start of my new life so I want to get going as much as I can. I still want to spend time with my family though as that is part of the reason for me doing this.
Anyway good luck with the list and count me in - if I find anything helpful I’ll send it your way.

Hi Debbie
I\’ve just found a useful post on Wordpress blogs, plugins and themes on http://ianandbeckycarteronline.com/ which you might like to look at for this list

Sounds like an excellent idea to me, all in favour of centralisation.
A favour please Debbie. It has been brought to my notice that I have committed a cardinal sin without even knowing that I had done so. My original comment to young Mr Parkes must have started this off as it was made pre W.P blog and in the box you complete with the comment for the URL I used my main site, thought nothing of it.
This has caused a lot us angst within the group I understand as it has been seen as a deliberate attempt to market in a clandestine fashion. This is far from the case you need to be more advanced than I to use underhanded marketing practices for sure.
Hope you have not been offended by my ineptitude.
The correct link to my blog is

Thanks
Hi Debbie,
Great job on your blog, I’m also one of Alex’s students and would love for you to add my site to your blog, I’ll be adding yours to my blogroll as soon as I get some bugs worked out.
About the cool tools, that’s a great idea, thanks for doing that, here are a couple that I’d recommend: I use PrimoPDF, it’s free and allows you to turn anything into a pdf file, I’ve been using it for years and like it better than any of the other ones I’ve tried. I also have other programs that would be helpful. Let me know if you’d like to know about others.
Thanks,
Kevin
Hi Debbie,
With all the great sites out there among Alex’s students, it’s no wonder you’ve lost track of where you might have come across some particular widget or plugin. That’s a great idea to locate it on your own site. I’ve done something similar on mine, as well.
The latest is a polling plugin and Tweetmyblog.
I’ll add you to my blog roll, too.
Warmly,
Theresa
Hey Debbie,
How are you doing? Thanks again for your comment–looks like things are going well here.
I’m really excited for Alex’s traffic course this week!
Stay tune for my traffic videos this week on my blog–and let me know if I can do anything to help!

Hi Debbie,
Great work. I can’t even keep up with my routine like this comment to you. Being a slow writer is real handicap.
