Money From the Internet - Absolutely!

I thought it was about time to write about what we’ve been doing so far with Alex Jeffreys’ coaching program.  It started out with Forwarding to Basics.  Yes, forwarding!.  You see, so many of us exclude the basics of business when we venture out onto the world wide web.  We forget about having a solid vision of what we want to achieve.  In Steven Covey’s book “7 Habits of Highly Successful People”, one of the habits discussed is Begin With the End in Mind.

Once we have that vision, then it’s time to start planning.  Map out what you want to accomplish, set it to a timeline, establish milestones at specific intervals of goals you have achieved.  Start with 90 days and plan monthly milestones, weekly goals to achieve them and daily tasks to meet each weekly goal.  It keeps you on track and pushes you forward.  Plan what your daily tasks are for tomorrow, today.  Then you’ll know exactly what to do when you start the next day.

Keep yourself focused on the tasks at hand.  Organization and prioritization of tasks is key.  Block out set periods of time for each task and stick to it.  Don’t be distracted by checking email or other unproductive tasks.  If you keep a list of what you do each day and the amount of time for each, you’ll begin to see how much time is actually not being used productively on your business.

Then get some basic tools you’ll need to have a web presence.  You’ll need to get a domain name first.  There are a couple of good places for that. One is NameCheap. They have all the bells and whistles as well as 24/7 support.  The other is GoDaddy who is who I use and they also have all the bells and whistles with 24/7 support. Both run around $10.00/month.  Next you’ll need to get domain hosting, ie. your rental space on the web. For this, I would recommend either HostGator or Bluehost.  Hostgator has all the latest tools including cPanel and 24/7 support for as little as $4.95/month.  Bluehost also has all the latest tools including cPanel and 24/7 support, but you get unlimited domains for as little as $6.95/month.

The last thing I would recommend is to get a mentor. Though coaching programs aren’t inexpensive, they save you so much time and tons of mistakes. Having a mentor also gives you someone to bounce around your ideas with. Since you start with the end in mind, it’s great to be able to state that vision to someone who knows the ropes and has been successful at it.

If your vision includes capturing information so that you can send promotional emails to potential customers, you’ll also want to sign up with Aweber.  They currently charge about $20/month for their service, but it’s something you really can’t do without for email list management.

So be confident in yourself, and Take Action!

To Your Success … Debbie

Hey Debbie.

Nice post. It’s very easy for anyone new trying to start an internet business to forget about basic business principles. You wouldn’t set up a bricks and mortar store without a business plan and an end goal, but many new marketers jump in blindly with sense of direction or destinantion.

We have posted a 15 traffic tips post for Alex’s students here so everyone can start driving traffic to their blog and squeeze page.

http://improfitlauncher.com/15-traffic-tips-for-blogs/

I will leave it up until after the next traffic session. Feel free to add any other traffic methods for everyones benefit. jason and I will add a few more ourselves.

Cheers

JJ
